As designers, sometimes we see an element that gets in our head and refuses to leave.  We think about buying it, we think about where we could use it; we obsess over it until we can find a place in a house, a photo shoot, or a wedding where it can be utilized.

In this particular case, a bride and her gorgeous wedding were the inspiration for this photo shoot with the always amazing Elizabeth Millay.  Our bride came to us with the idea to use antique taxidermy at her wedding and we couldn’t have been more excited.  We investigated Holman Ranch as a potential venue for her and we loved it.  When the bride and groom chose to have their wedding at home, we knew we had to create something, anything, at the hacienda style space.

What resulted was, in our opinion, a wonderful fusion of masculine and feminine, vintage and modern (you can see our inspiration board here).  The entire team that created it went above and beyond; the custom made furniture from rEvolve and the florals by Sharla Flock were awesome, and all the taxidermy made us incredibly happy!  The shoot was featured on Style Me Pretty. We’re deeply indebted to our amazing bride, Julie, for the spark of inspiration: her wedding will be featured soon, but we also wanted to include a little sneak peek here.  We hope you enjoy the photos as much as we enjoyed bringing them to life.
