We’ve officially said goodbye to 2012 but before it becomes a distant memory, we at LHE wanted to look back over what proved to be an absolutely amazing year. We had so many wonderful clients and worked at some stunning venues; we were so thrilled to have been a part of all our weddings this year that it was tough to narrow them down for a year-end wrap up but here are a few that we fell head over heels for.

Northeast: Nantucket

It was such an incredible experience to be able to plan an event in such an old New-England town. We put together a fun clam bake on the Jetties Beach the night before the wedding and the wedding itself was held at the Great Harbor Yacht Club.

Brooklyn Winery & Brooklyn Botanic Garden, Brooklyn

This August bride had a family history and connection with Brooklyn so the rehearsal dinner was held at their favorite local, Brooklyn Winery. We loved the simple, organic vibe and super relaxed atmosphere. The goal for the wedding day was a romantic garden in the city and BBG was the perfect location. Lots of candlelight, gorgeous creamy tone flowers with accents of blue & violet.

Northern California:

Durham Ranch

The venue for this September wedding could not have been more beautiful, from the charming cottage to the gorgeous loft-like barn. We used deep plums combined with pastel pinks and creams for the florals and the gorgeous lighting scheme really transformed the space.  The Japanese maple trees lining the walls softened up the room and everything, from the decor to the guests, combined to turn that evening into a rollicking good time.

Private Residence, Rutherford

Held at the residence of the groom’s parents, this English hunting lodge inspired wedding was, in a word, magical. The bride came to us with two firm ideas: 1) she wanted her wedding to feel like the Ralph Lauren restaurant in Paris and 2) she wanted taxidermy on the tables.  We loved the ideas and ran with them, transforming the sycamore grove on the property into a glittering, candlelit wonderland.  Not only was the day beautiful (the weather cooperated perfectly!) but the couple and their families were all wonderful to work with.  We’re proud to say that it and the photos by the amazing Laura at Docuvitae will be featured in the upcoming wedding issue of C Magazine!

Southeast: The Greenbrier, White Sulfur Springs, WV

The Greenbrier wedding was the quintessential Southern affair. The bride grew up in West Virginia and really wanted to host her big day in a place close to her heart.  The Greenbrier has been a southern institution since the days before the civil war and is widely regarded as one of the best resorts and hotels in the world.  The elegance and opulence of the this grand hotel was reflected in the gorgeous details of the wedding. We know we’re partial to all our weddings, but the ladies over at Style Me Pretty gave the wedding and the gorgeous photos by Sue at Christian Oth a feature !

Other Destinations: Jackson Hole, WY

Our Jackson Hole wedding was held at the bride’s family home, which is actually situated on an elk preserve at the foot of the Teton Mountains.  There is no more inspiring site in the world than the Grand Tetons at sunset; imagine them as the backdrop for a wedding! It was a superb and unforgettable weekend which is going to be featured in the summer 2013 issues of Brides!

All in all it was a great year.  We laughed, we played, we worked hard.  We met some wonderful people and worked with some stunning talents.  As a new year rolls around, we hope to continue to be able to do so in a big way with the newest addition to our services: a base in Atlanta to cover the South.  We’ll of course still be servicing California and New York (and all destination in between), but we wanted to give our southern clients an office a little closer to home.  Atlanta, Charleston, Savannah, Austin, New Orleans, and Washington, DC are just a few of the cities we can easily reach from our new southern office and we look forward to all of them!

So here’s to a fantastic old year and an even brighter new one!
